Mussels Cabernet Marinara

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 4 oz. Thick-cut bacon, diced
  • 1/4 cup Garlic, chopped
  • 3 lb. Mussels, cleaned and debearded
  • 1 cup dry white wine
  • 1 jar (24 oz.) Cabernet Marinara with Herbs Pasta Sauce
  • 3 tbsp Fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a large skillet set over medium-high heat. Cook bacon for 2 to 3 minutes or until crispy. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute. Add mussels and wine. Cover and cook for 4 to 5 minutes or until mussels have opened.
  2. Stir in pasta sauce; cook for 2 to 3 minutes or until heated through. Stir in parsley. Serve immediately with cooked pasta or crusty bread, if desired.
Tips
Just as delicious with  Fire-Roasted Tomato & Garlic Pasta Sauce.
To clean mussels: scrub mussels to remove exterior dirt and pull out any beards. Discard any mussels with cracked shells and any with open shells that do not close when lightly tapped.
